Diversity and inclusion
Equal treatment of all employees shall be a basic principle of company policy towards customers and suppliers. Typical discriminatory treatment takes into account - consciously or unconsciously - irrelevant characteristics of an employee, such as race, nationality, gender, age, physical attributes, social origin, disability, union membership, religious orientation, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or any other illegitimate criteria under applicable law. Customers and suppliers shall ensure that their employees are not harassed in any way.
Alicunde urges its customers and suppliers to provide an inclusive and supportive work environment, and to exercise diversity both with their employees and in their decisions when selecting subcontractors.
Fair treatment
Customers and suppliers shall provide their employees with a work environment free of violence and inhumane treatment, without any sexual harassment, sexual abuse, physical punishment or torture, physical or psychological coercion or verbal abuse, or threat of such treatment. In addition, customers and suppliers are expected not to terminate employment contracts arbitrarily or without clear evidence that the termination of the employment contract, with respect to the employee's performance, is protected by law.
Working hours, wages and benefits. The working hours of customers' and suppliers' employees shall not exceed the maximum allowed by applicable national legislation. Employees' remuneration shall comply with the country's wage legislation and ensure an adequate standard of living. Unless otherwise provided by local legislation, deductions from base salary as a disciplinary measure shall not be permitted (this does not exclude liability for damages established by contract or legislation). Customers and suppliers are expected to provide their employees with fair and competitive wages and benefits.
Wages and benefits shall aim to provide a decent standard of living for employees and their families. Employees of customers and suppliers shall receive their salaries on time. It is recommended that customers and suppliers provide their employees with sufficient training opportunities.
Freedom of association
Customers and suppliers shall engage in constructive dialogue with their employees and employee representatives. In accordance with local law, customers and suppliers shall respect the rights of their employees to associate freely, join trade unions, seek representation, be members of works councils and participate in collective bargaining. Customers and suppliers shall not disadvantage employees acting as employee representatives.
